Poetry In Motion

Walking through a desolate land
Look around, all I see is mud
It's pouring down
Close my eyes, take a second look
And I see beauty,
The beauty that could be
When the storm is over.

The beauty that's in store
For those who wait upon the Lord
From the ashes, from the destruction
Beauty is coming.

See the sun's ray
Shining through the clouds
Although it's pouring down
The flowers in the breeze
Give us hope for another day
And remind that spring is on it's way.

What once was
Bundled up, burdened under pain
Is now arising, out of the ashes into new life
As the flowers push up through the dirt
They start to bloom again
Reminding us of the beauty that's in store.

Walking through the desolate land
I don't see it how it is
But how it could be
He sees the beauty that will be
Not the destruction that is
And He takes our hands
Through these desolate lands
And He leads us through.

As we go through the valley again
It gets easier as we know the way out
Sometimes all we have to do is close our eyes
And see the beauty that's coming
And let that be our hope.

As we face similar pains
We know we can keep walking
Because we've been here before
So the way out doesn't seem as scary as it once was.

Sometimes our desolate lands,
Our valleys,
Our burdens and pains
Are really miracles in the making
Beauty in the waiting
That's been refined through the storm
Now arising stronger than ever before.

Sometimes our mountains
Are just little hills
And He's waiting to take our hand through it all.

Sometimes all we have to do
Is keep walking over them
Keeping our eyes on Him
As our mountains fade away
And what once looked so big
Now looks so small
When you're on the top looking down.

Walking through a desolate land
Look around, all I see is mud
It's pouring down
Close my eyes, take a second look
And I see beauty,
The beauty that will be
When the storm is over.

Imagine the beauty in a desolate land
See the hope in the middle of the storm
Sometimes our mountains that looked so big
Are just little hills waiting to be crossed over
Take His hand and don't be afraid
He'll lead you through,
He'll help you climb your mountain.

One day when you're looking back
You'll see the beauty that has been made
From all the ashes in your life
So don't give up
'Cause beauty is coming
Joy is coming
The morning is almost here
Spring is coming.

Take His hand through the desolate land.

Mother's Day Menu: Breakfast in Bed

When you're making breakfast for someone special, you want it to be just right, and for Mother's Day this Sunday,we don't think it could get much better than this breakfast menu....

Flavorful enough to holds its own amongst servings of fruit, bacon, sausage, potatoes, pancakes and more, this recipe can be easily adapted to spice up your day....

It's the thought that counts...

Get that good morning taste of juicy sausage seasoned
with a little sage and black pepper, with a fresh and flaky buttermilk biscuit!

We've gone through stacks and stacks of recent cookbooks to pick out a handful that we think would make a nice gift for Mother's Day. We've shied away from those monster tomes that are more "book" than "cook"—they just end up on the coffee table to impress people. These are practical books that real people could cook out of, by some of our favorite recipe authors....

$40 Etsy

Oh Hummingbird, mankind was

waiting for you to come

flying along

Heavenly Songbird we were so

wrong, we've harmed you

Oh Hummingbird, lend us your

wings

Let us soar in the atmosphere of

Abba

"Lift us up to the Heaven of

Holiness

Oh Source of our being!"* --Oh,

Hummingbird

Hummingbird don't fly away,

fly away

Hummingbird don't fly away,

fly away

In you I found a fragrance

I'll love you till I die

I just love you, love you, love you

I don't even know the reason why.

Hummingbird don't fly away,

fly away

Hummingbird don't fly away,

fly away

The sweetness of your "Nectar"

Has drawn me like a fly

I just love you, love you, love you

I don't even know the reason why

now

Hummingbird don't fly away,

fly away

Hummingbird don't fly away,

fly away

Haven't you noticed the days

somehow keep getting longer

And the spirit-voices whisper in

us all

Haven't you noticed the rays

The "Spirit Sun" is stronger

And a "New Day" is dawning for

us all.

Hummingbird don't fly away,

fly away

Hummingbird don't fly away,

fly away

Alas here comes the "Gardener"

He's come to till the flowers

The draught of understanding,

wisdom, peace and love is ours.

Hummingbird don't fly away,

fly away

Hummingbird don't fly away,

fly away

Don't fly away, don't fly away...

The Message of the Twenty-Third Psalm
by Max Lucado

INSPIRATION    Ever wonder why churches are powerful in one generation but empty the next?  Perhaps the answer is found in Proverbs 15:25. "The Lord will tear down the proud person's house."

God hates arrogance.  He hates arrogance because we haven't done anything to be arrogant about.  Do art critics give award to the canvas?  Is there a Pulitzer for ink?  Can you imagine a scalpel growing smug after a successful heart transplant?  Of course not.  They are only tools, so they get no credit for the accomplishments.

And the message of the Twenty-third Psalm is that we have nothing to be proud about either.  We have rest, salvation, blessings, and home in heaven--and we did nothing to earn any of it.  Who did?  Who did the work?  The answer threads through the psalm like a silk thread through pearls.

"He makes me . . ."

"He leads me . . ."

"He restores my soul . . ."

"You are with me . . . "

"You rod and your staff comfort me . . ."

"You prepare a table . . ."

"You anoint my head . . ."

We may be the canvas, the paper, or the scalpel, but we are not the ones who deserve the applause.  And just to make sure e get the point right smack-dab in the middle of the poem, David recalls who does.  The shepherd leads his sheep, not for our names' sake."

Why does God have anything to do with us?  For his name's sake.  No other name up in lights.  No other name on the front page.  This is all done for God's glory.  (From Traveling Light by Max Lucado)

APPLICATION    In what areas of your life is there a temptation to become or arrogant?  Is it a special ability or talent?  Is it your possessions--the house you live, or the car you drive?  Or it is your educational background or your accomplishments?  Make a list of those items and then confess to God your pride.  Ask that God will help you remove that spirit of arrogance.
