The Thanksgiving Turkey...

"Now, here see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!

- Lewis Carrol (Through the Looking Glass, chapter 2--Logical Nonsense, The Works of Lewis Carroll, 1872)

We do think alike...great Rockwell picture!
The Thanksgiving memory that comes to mind may not be a favorite in the worlds eyes, but in my heart it holds a special place. Two years ago my mother was just days from passing, with the help of family and hospice I was caring for her in her own home. Exhausted and over flowing with emotion, Thanksgiving was not on my mind. My daugher put a thanksgiving dinner on at my Mothers..the house was filled with love and Mom was in the bedroom, just a few days from heaven. It was so right to gather in her home, all the things we gave thanks for...including the 84 years she had on this earth. It was sad, but also filled with the joy of the Lord.
I hope this hasn't been a downer for you, because it wasn't for us. God brings peace and love, even in the hardest of times.
Happy thanksgiving!
