Sharon writes: I'm not sure why things evolved for us this way, but it's the way I've been doing it for years. I think it started with not wanting to be tired of the decorations by the 25th. Doing the tree so late had to do with minimizing exposure small kids and pets.
- The Christmas wreath goes on the front door, the candles go in the windows, and outdoor decorations go up around December 1.
- The mantle and other non-tree decorating occurs around December 10.
- The tree goes up sometime between the 15th and the 20th.
- Everything except the wreath comes down between January 1 and the first weekend after January 1.
